Electric RC Car Kits

Ran for too long on RTR (ready-to-run) Electric RC Cars and now your thrills ran out of steam? Try assembling a new Electric RC Car for yourself or your friend or neighbour.

These days, the "Do-it-yourself" kits have become very elaborately organised packs with very minutely detailed instructions and user-friendly accessories. Why assemble yourself when there are ready-made cars. Right, the motivation shall always be yours but there are certain benefits.

They are cheaper than pre-assembled ones. As you gain experience you can assemble later faster and with ease. The building experience also helps in diagnosis of car problems, saves you money and time. After all, these activities give you something inspiring, other than your boss's instructions or neighbours' complaints, to work on.

Before beginning to actually assemble, take time - you must, unless you are an accomplished assembler of RC cars, including the model you presently laid your hands on, for you don't know what innovation they came up with - to read the manual.

Completely read and understand the instructions and mark any important points you think you can't miss. Kits usually come up with certain necessary tools but not all the common ones you always need. These include:

1. Philips head screw driver of size 1 and 2.

2. Nut Drivers: Hexagonal nut drivers suitable for the nuts used in RC cars makes it easy to drive those many nuts.

3. Needle nose Pliers for fixing tiny parts in place and many other tasks.

4. Soldering iron for occasional soldering of electronic items, that sometimes becomes necessary.

5. Low duty thread-lock fluid whenever advised.

6. Flush Cutters or side cutters to snip parts off parts trees.

All in all, due mechanical diligence is required for this delicate. Particularly, if you are using a "Performance upgrade kit" on your old Electric RC Car, care shall be taken to use the right kind of nuts, screws and other parts as well as tools and fixtures. Otherwise, faulty tools and components may cause damage to car.

In case of refits, be careful to remove part by part, so as not jumble up later. Also, the motor of new cars should be broken in before reaching full speeds. Start with low speeds for some time, gradually attaining full speeds. Otherwise, the life of new motor might be affected.

Happy Assembling!
